Dear Prospective Volunteer,
Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer at Northside Hospital Forsyth. We are proud to offer a wide range of service opportunities in more than 50 departments throughout our hospital.
As a volunteer, you’ll join a dedicated team of individuals who are committed not only to supporting our hospital but also to helping us achieve our vision of delivering world-class healthcare.
Volunteer Commitment
Volunteers are asked to commit to at least one four-hour shift on a consistent day each week for a minimum of one year. Shifts are scheduled Monday through Friday during the following times:
Volunteer Onboarding Process
Step 1: Complete an Application
Click the link below to submit your online application. After it is received, an Auxiliary Officer will contact you to schedule an interview.
Step 2: Attend an Interview
You’ll meet with a member of the Auxiliary Board to review volunteer expectations, explore available service opportunities, and choose a role that aligns with your skills and interests. A uniform fitting will also be conducted during the interview.

Step 3: Employee Health Screening
During your interview, you will receive instructions for completing your Employee Health screening, located in Suite 240 of the 1100 Building on the Northside Forsyth campus. Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Please note: The Auxiliary Office will be notified when you are cleared to serve but will not receive any of your personal medical information.
Step 4: Background Check
All prospective volunteers must complete a background check. You will receive an email with a link to the required online form. The Auxiliary Office will be notified once clearance is received.
Step 5: Attend Orientation
After you are cleared by both Employee Health and the background check, you’ll be invited to attend a 90-minute volunteer orientation session. This session covers hospital policies and procedures and includes a tour of the facility.
Step 6: Departmental Training
You will receive on-the-job training from the Team Leader in the department where you will serve. The Team Leader is an experienced Auxiliary volunteer who will help you become comfortable and confident in your new role.
